To transform hearts and develop leaders for the flourishing of healthy families, homes, and communities in our city.
OUR PROGRAM
MAN UP
Our curriculum consists of meaningful dialogue around topics such as: Responsibility, Authority, Stories, Fatherhood, and Family.
In partnership with the schools we work with, we are given access to teach our curriculum during schools hours, while developing healthy relationships with our students on and off campus.
SPEAK UP
Our young women are just as much in need of support as our young men. We provide professional and experienced female leaders to develop healthy relationship with our girls. Our female team members are not only passionate about seeing hearts and lives transformed, but can relate to what our young women go through. Outside of our relational support, we also teach a curriculum on campus. Topics we discuss consist of: Relational Development, Self-Worth, Forgiveness, Attitude, and Stories.
CESARS CLOSET
Community | Collaboration | Clothing
During lunch hours, students gather for community, shop for free clothes, shoes, & hygiene products, while having the option earn community service hours. School staff and organizations we partner with often meet in this room for collaboration and greater impact.
OFF CAMPUS
A huge part of our program is hanging out with students off campus. We provide gatherings over meals, trips to sporting events and movie theaters, and winter & summer camps with organizations we partner with. We also bring them around our families to model healthy homes and family life. We love getting to know our students families as well, and offer opportunity for them to join us during these hangouts as often as they'd like.
YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS
In February of 2023, we launched our first pilot program made up of 12 high school students living in South Phoenix (the majority attending Cesar Chavez High School). The goal of this program is to explore the "Why" behind each students entrepreneurial goal. We do a deep dive into what each student is passionate about, what makes a healthy business culture, and how their entrepreneur goals can make a difference in their lives and communities. Wanting each student to have the ability to invest in their business startup, we committed to awarding each student a financial stipend for the completion of this program. This was a successful pilot program and our goal is to now expand this program to more students and communities. This program is in collaboration with Hustle PHX.
OUR WHY BEHIND WHAT WE DO
It's Not Supposed To Be This Way:
The large majority of the students we work with come from overlooked, under-resrouced communities. Most experience tremendous brokenness in their neighborhoods and at home, i.e: divorced parents, poverty, physical and/or verbal abuse, drug and alcohol abuse, gang violence, etc. They carry these burdens onto their campuses and into their classrooms, making it extremely difficult to perform well in school. As they enter adulthood, they often model some of the same negative behaviors they experienced growing up, resulting in a cycle of more broken homes, neighborhoods, and communities.
Restoring Hearts, Homes, and Community: Here at AZ Reach, we believe in the power of positive relationships. Our volunteers are passionate, professional, and can relate to life in the inner-city. By way of our curriculum on campus and earning relational equity in the lives of our students and their families, we are confident that lives and homes that were once broken can be restored for the greater good of our city.
