Our dedicated team of experienced staff & volunteers are amazing at their work, utilizing their unique skills and passion to move the work of AZ Reach forward. We’re always pushing ourselves to stay ahead of the curve and striving to grow our programs. Meet some of our incredible team members below.
WANDALINE JOASSIN
Mentor
Full of life, joy, and love, Wandaline is a mentor our girls absolutely love having. Wandaline helps lead our "Speak-Up" girls program. She understands what it takes to make a positive, life-changing impact in a young persons life. We're grateful to have Wandaline on our team.
MIGUEL PEREZ
Mentor
Try to have a conversation about youth and young adults in the inner-city with Miguel, and see his eyes water. Love and compassion fill Miguel’s his heart. He is a father or 9, and husband. Miguel lives and serves in the community only minutes away from the schools he serves through AZ Reach. Miguel is all about building impactful and healthy relationships with our boys.
ELLIS DUNMORE (BIS-KIT)
Mentor
Known by everyone as "Bis-kit", Ellis is loved by all of the students he works with; largely because of the unconditional love he extends to them. Bis-kit is full of life and serves as an amazing mentor to our male students. He helps run Cesar's Closet and is a valuable leader in our small groups.
JUAN CHAVEZ
President
Juan Chavez is an Arizona native, born and raised in South Phoenix. At age 19 his life radically changed, and since then he has been on a journey to help change others lives and see his community and city restored for the better. Juan is married to Christina Chavez, together they have 3 beautiful children. Outside of AZ Reach, Juan enjoys serving at his Church, Redemption Alhambra and in his South Phoenix community. He taught high school for 7 years and has worked on high school campuses and in non-profit space since 2010. Juan holds an MA from Covenant Seminary and education in leadership from the DVULI foundation. An avid coffee drinker, you can often find Juan sipping on cold brew in various coffee shops.
CHRISTINA CHAVEZ
Business Administrator
Experienced, trustworthy, fun. These are just a few of the ways we can describe this invaluable member of our team. Christina has her BA in business accounting and helps us maintain a trusted and successful non-profit from behind the scenes. She is a loving mom, wife, and great role-model for the young women we work with.
ROCHTO JOASSIN (RJ)
Mentor
Rochto, known to some as RJ, is one of the most personal and relatable mentors a young person can have. He bring 10+ years of experience and skills to our team, helping our organization grow and succeed. Many of the schools we serve are in the same community where Rochto lives. He's married to Wandaline, who also leads with AZ Reach. We're grateful to have a married couple leading as examples to our youth. Rochto also runs a community center in Central Phoenix where many of our students have visited after school hours.
SARAH RITORTO
Mentor
Sarah has the unique gift of lighting up every rooms she walks into. She brings a style of leadership to the table that invites students to be vulnerable and honest. Her love and passion for this work brings about powerful impact in her mentoring! We are grateful to have Sarah on our team.
DAWIT KEBEDE
Mentor
Dawit Kebede joined AZ Reach with the vision and drive to impact young men. Dawit knows what it's like to be headed down the wrong path, and also knows the value of strong male role-models who help lead those going astray to a better way. Our students will often pass by our classroom and ask with excitement, "Is Dawit here today?!"
DANA DAILEY
Mentor and Board Member
Dana Dailey has been serving youth and young adults for over 20 years. Love, passion, drive, and experience is what makes Dana an amazing mentor. Her story impacts the lives of those she works with. She is a committed wife & mother, a leader in our city, and has a strong desire to see the flourishing of healthy homes and families across Arizona communities.
ANTHONY HALL
Mentor
Anthony (aka Coach Anthony) brings a lot of mentoring experience to the team. He is very intentional with getting to know the students he works with. Those he mentors quickly learn that Anthony is always ready to give a listening ear, an encouraging word, or the motivation and wisdom needed to make the next right choice. Anthony is a great gift to our team and students!
JORDAN FRANCIS
Mentor
Jordan is one of the best youth workers in the game, and we're grateful to have him on our team. Outside of volunteering with us, Jordan runs his own non-profit called RealTALK, also working with high school and college aged students. Learn more about RealTALK here: rltkphx.org
WAYNE WYNTER
Mentor
Wayne knows inner-city life through and through, and relates extremely well to the boys he is serving. Wayne is a husband and father, and is passionate to see lives changed for the better, just as his was.
OCTAVIOUS HOLGUIN
Mentor
Octavious Holguin has a heart for the hurting and most vulnerable of high school students. Outside of volunteering with AZ Reach, Octavious has a heart for those in foster care and is working toward providing loving and safe housing communities for them.
